Prompt your Circumstance

I met a woman long ago claiming

 vagaries of happenstance
where unrelenting desert

entwines unmetalled road.
Near them, crushed

inconsolably, beneath cracked remnants

leeching

gravel-laced cement,
Half-sunk,

a Chevy truck

beneath piercing

bright sunlight
A colossal wreck,

the ‘iconic

cross-like

bow tie logo’

jeers and scoffs:
“Built tough!

LIKE A ROCK!”

outcrop

Untold rack and ruin

on lone and level sands
boundless and bare,

you find the

 far reaches of despair

My name is Ozymandias,

Look on my works, ye all Mighty,

For now I’ve got you

In my crosshairs
